Acupuncture treatments could be just what you need to put a spring back into your steps. Dull winter days can drain our energy levels, making us prone to catching the nasty bugs that do the rounds.

“It’s so important to look after your health at this time of year. When the weather is dreary, many people feel low and lethargic. Acupuncture can help boost your immune system and promote positive health and wellbeing so you can enjoy life to the full.” Says Gabriella Kispal, clinical director of Chichester Natural Health Centre.

Acupuncture treatment is an ancient Eastern therapy which has been used for thousands of years to improve general health. It can be used to treat a wide variety of illnesses ranging from back pain to skin conditions, high blood pressure to menopausal symptoms. Indeed, there is now so much scientific evidence to show its safety and efficacy that many Western doctors are practising and recommending treatments.

By inserting special needles into specific points on the body, acupuncturists are able to rebalance the flow of energy, known as Qi, through the body to help clear symptoms and restore good health and wellbeing.

“Everyone is an individual and each treatment is tailored to your own specific needs,” explains Gabriella. “We always begin with a thorough assessment of physical and emotional health. With this information, we can then provide the most beneficial treatment for you and offer practical and personalised lifestyle advice.”

If you’d like to know more about how acupuncture could help you or a family member, Gabriella and her colleague Georgina Wise offer a free 10-minute consultation.  During the consultation, they can explain more about the therapy and answer queries.

“One of the most common questions is ‘Does it hurt?’,” says Gabriella. “Most clients are pleasantly surprised that it is such a relaxing experience. The fine needles give a lovely tingly sensation, making you feel light and dreamy.”

Gabriella and Georgie have a great working relationship, as well as both being members of the British Acupuncture Council, they are also sisters. Their unique bond helps their patients to feel comfortable in receiving treatments from either of them. Having two qualified acupuncturists at Chichester Natural Health Centre enables the acupuncture treatments to run five days a week, Monday through to Friday.
